About: This coffee comes to us through Unblended, a company dedicated to supporting young producers in Colombia by providing education, mentorship, resources, and infrastructure. This lot is a regional blend of various experimental batches from the young producers in the program along with a part of Sebastian Ramirez's Red Fruits co-ferment (which uses wine yeast, dehydrated strawberries, and red fruit glucose). Unblended hosts producers to experiment in very small batches, and blends a portion of that coffee into this blend.
The result of this blend is truly remarkable. We're tasting an extremely smooth bodied coffee bursting with blue raspberry and strawberry that is reminiscent of all of our favorite blue candies from childhood.
From Unblended: "It is a lot that builds demand for the processing experiments that are necessary for the development of the young producers in the program. This lot is composed by many experimental small lots from producers that when combined result in a consistent fruit-forward and chocolaty profile. This way, producers can learn and experiment with small batches and roasters can support this learning exercise by adopting this coffee in their menu
