Fray: A Life Dedicated to Chiroso and Quality Coffee
Fray has been working in coffee for over 25 years. He has lived his entire life in Urrao and, after seeing his neighbors begin planting Chiroso, he decided to introduce the variety to his own farm. He has now been growing Chiroso for 15 years with dedication and care.
He lives on the farm with his wife and their two children. His daughter currently lives in Medellín, while his son supports him with the daily work on the farm.
Throughout his career, Fray has participated in regional competitions in Antioquia, earning second place in 2018. In addition to coffee, he also grows lulo.
He has worked on quality control with the local cooperative and has strengthened his technical knowledge through shared learning and experience with neighboring producers, further establishing himself as a skilled and committed farmer.
