No Roots, Just Passion: Sergio’s Rise in the Coffee World
Sergio doesn’t come from a coffee background. He fell in love with coffee while working at the Coffee Cooperative of Urrao. That’s what inspired him to start learning about different varietals, and that’s how he ended up planting Chiroso. It’s gone really well, although it hasn’t been easy—especially with the constant cold weather.
“Even so, thank God, I’ve had some great advantages: good prices, excellent cup quality, and the amazing honor of taking part in an international auction through the Tierra de Diversidad competition,” he said when we asked him about his story and the challenges of growing coffee.
