Víctor and his family have tried to build a life around coffee more than once—this is now their third time starting from scratch. Before dedicating himself fully to the farm, Víctor worked in the buying and trading of fruits and vegetables in Urrao, which for many years was the family’s main source of income. His father, on the other hand, has always been connected to the land, spending his life growing avocados and coffee.
Their perspective on coffee began to shift after hearing about Jhon Didier and seeing what was possible through specialty coffee. Inspired by his journey, they became increasingly motivated to explore coffee with greater intention, experimenting with extended fermentations and new processing techniques.
With a larger farm and a bigger harvest, Víctor and his family have found in coffee a new opportunity to build something of their own. Today, alongside his cousin Juan and with the support of a farm worker who helps guide their fermentation processes, they are building their own coffee brand, Ecos del Páramo. Víctor is now fully dedicated to the farm, has invested in a roaster, and is focused on growing the project through roasting, branding, and sharing their coffees more directly with the market.
